Welcome to The Beauford Club
Beauford cars are supplied in kit form. The first were made in 1985 and used a Mini bodyshell as the passenger compartment later replaced by a glass fibre moulding. This was mounted on a ladder chassis. At the front is a long bonnet with flowing wings at either side to give the appearance of a 1930s luxury car.
Almost any power unit can be fitted including Ford, Nissan and Rover. The suspension is currently sourced from the Ford Sierra, but older cars were Cortina based.
Both open and closed bodies are made. The cars became popular as wedding transport leading to a "long-bodied" version being produced with a slightly shortened bonnet and narrower rear parcel shelf to give much roomier accommodation for rear seat passengers .
The Beauford company is British and was originally based at Upholland, Lancashire.

Federation of British Historical Vehicles (FBHV)
In view of the fact that quite a few Beauford Cars have now reached the 40 year age mark whereby they can be classed and registered as “historic” vehicles, the club has registered itself and its members with the Federation of British Historical Vehicles.
If you click on the FBHV logo at the top of this page it will take you through to the official web site. Our nominated member for contacting them with any specific query is Owen Copeland our magazine editor and he can be contacted if you have any queries
